Antioch

In Syria, in important city on the Orontes, founded 300 B.C. by Seleucus Nicator; in N.T. times the third city in the Roman Empire. It was the chief meeting point of East and West, and a most disreputable city. During Paul's life it was a center of gentile Christianity (Acts 6: 5; Acts 11: 19-30; Acts 13: 1; Acts 14: 26; Acts 15: 22-35; Acts 18: 22; Gal. 2: 11).

In Pisidia, a Phrygian city in the Roman province of Galatia (Acts 13: 14; Acts 14: 19-21; 2 Tim. 3: 11).
