An adult female person, a daughter of God. The term Woman is sometimes used in scripture as a title of respect (John 19: 26; Alma 19: 10).

God created male and female, Gen. 1: 27 (Moses 2: 27; 6: 9; Abr. 4: 27). A virtuous woman is priced above rubies, Prov. 31: 10-31. Woman is the glory of the man, 1 Cor. 11: 7. Neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord, 1 Cor. 11: 11. Women should adorn themselves in modest apparel, 1 Tim. 2: 9-10. I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women, Jacob 2: 28. Thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou art an elect lady, D&C 25. Women have claim on their husbands for maintenance, D&C 83: 2.
