Selections from the Sixth International Art Competition
"Let the Mountains Shout for Joy!" Ensign, Mar. 2006, 40
Following is art from Latter-day Saints in 11 different countries. Though the art represents a wide range of media and artistic styles, each reflects the artist's interpretation of Latter-day Saint beliefs, history, or life.
These works of art embody the same energy and joy in Christ and His eternal creations that we find expressed in Doctrine and Covenants 128:23 [D&C 128:23]: "Let the mountains shout for joy, and all ye valleys cry aloud; and all ye seas and dry lands tell the wonders of your Eternal King! ... Let the woods and all the trees of the field praise the Lord; and ye solid rocks weep for joy! And let the sun, moon, and the morning stars sing together, and let all the sons of God shout for joy! And let the eternal creations declare his name forever and ever!"
