GUIDE TO THE SCRIPTURES
Way
See also Jesus Christ; Walk, Walk with God

The path or course a person follows. Jesus said he was the way (John 14: 4-6).

Keep the commandments of the Lord to walk in his ways, Deut. 8: 6. Train up a child in the way he should go, Prov. 22: 6 (2 Ne. 4: 5). The Lord said his ways are higher than our ways, Isa. 55: 8-9. Strait is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life, Matt. 7: 13-14 (3 Ne. 14: 13-14; 3 Ne. 27: 33; D&C 132: 22, 25). God will make a way for you to escape temptation, 1 Cor. 10: 13. The Lord gives no commandment that he does not prepare a way for his children to keep, 1 Ne. 3: 7 (1 Ne. 9: 6; 17: 3, 13). There is none other way except it be by the gate, 2 Ne. 9: 41. Ye are free to act for yourselves-to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life, 2 Ne. 10: 23. This is the way and there is no other way nor name, 2 Ne. 31: 21 (Mosiah 3: 17; Alma 38: 9; Hel. 5: 9). In the gift of his Son hath God prepared a more excellent way, Ether 12: 11 (1 Cor. 12: 31). Every man walketh in his own way, D&C 1: 16. It must be done in my own way, D&C 104: 16.
