Unyielding stone,
no place for seed
to take root and flourish.
And yet-
He who made the stone
can bring life
from its unpromising surface.
How much more, then,
can spring from the fleshy heart,
obdurate though it may seem,
when a seed is nourished
by words of life from the Rock?
